Our own Big Daddy made a splash in Austin, Texas this past week. Debuting his new solo acoustic "Roosterboy Delta Style" show, Michael performed October 13 at the famous Hard Rock Cafe on Austin's thriving live 6th Street. On Tuesday, Michael, with special guest, Louis Meyers, appeared on the Austin Music Network's Live at Bigsby's. Louis is the GM of the Austin Music Network and a very good musician who brought along his guitar to do the cool little show with Michael. The event was a fund raiser for the Network, which is battling budget cuts from the state government. Michael and Louis performed songs from The Adventures Of Roosterboy CD, in the Delta style format which goes back to the very roots of Michael Shipp's music. A stirring tribute to fellow Arkansan Johnny Cash simply stole the show and teared a very appreciative audience. Michael will be doing acoustic appearances over the next few months promoting the CD at retail venues or similar outlets.
